“Do you think Rick would wanna have a threesome?”
That question still haunts me. I have not thought about it before. I never realized that I have been in his shadows.
Rick is my best friend. The jerk that asked me that question was a guy I was trying to woo. Apparently, he was only interested getting Rick and he figured I was the way to go – the best friend.
I knew that Rick is far superior from me in terms of, well, everything. He comes from money. He is very beautiful, athletic and charming. I, on the other hand, am all the things that he is not. I guess that is why we became friends in the first place. People say opposites attract right? Yup, we were drawn to each other like moths to a flame. But we were not sexually attracted to one another, mind you. We both like chasers and so there would be no hanky panky between us, thank you.
Anyway, we were in this trip to an exotic island and I had my eye on this one new guy that came with our group. He is quite fair, very hot and very easy on the eyes. But I knew he would be better matched with Rick. They both are very athletic and very active. I guess I never really thought of it that way since Rick is happily betrothed and I am the single one. I should have taken on the mentality of a chaser.
I was having my lunch alone when he sauntered up to the buffet line. I asked him to eat with me and he agreed. We got to talking and by the time we finished talking, we were in his room getting hot and heavy. I thought it was a good sign because we had an amazing connection during the meal and the talk. Then he popped the question! No, not “Will you marry me?”
I mean, come on! We are in Malaysia after all. It’s not like we are in Europe or something. It was that threesome question. I was so hurt and ought to just get up and leave right? Well, it has been months since I last made out with a hot guy so I stayed and made out. That is, until his roommate came back from snorkeling.
I went back to my room and gave Rick a piece of my mind. In the end, I felt bad because it was not his fault but I just had to vent. This was not the first time it happened. There was this one other guy that I liked but he had never given me the time of day. However, when Rick is around, he would shower me with so much attention that people would have mistaken him as my loving lover. In reality, he has no interest in me whatsoever.
I so feel like one of Cinderella’s ugly stepsisters. Maybe I should start calling Rick Cinderella from now on. Sigh. I should be grateful though right? Because of Rick’s fabulousness, I get to make out with hot guys and people tries to get close to me. I gotta get my priorities sorted out I guess...

Spots
Eric pressed the Stop button. He was severely out of breath. He had been on the treadmill for over an hour now. A glance at the mirror showed him his fat body and he was determined to go for another hour. He concluded that he had not been exercising enough since he had yet to lose but a single pound after nearly two months of being a gym bunny.
However, as soon as he stood straight, he started seeing spots and felt a bit woozy. He carefully stepped off the machine and slowly wobbled to a nearby chair. He felt slightly better as soon as he sat down.
“Hey, are you okay?”
Eric looked around to find the source of the rich, deep, sexy and velvety voice. The guy was asking from a nearby machine while working his torso.
“Yeah, I’m okay. Just a little sore.”
The guy got up from his machine and went to Eric.
“You were working your body pretty hard,” he said, putting a hand on Eric’s shoulder. “If you’re not careful, you could really hurt yourself.”
Eric smiled and said his thanks. It was then when he got a pretty good look at the guy. He was very hot and sexy with a killer body and dazzling smile. Eric had gotten nervous now because the guy’s hand was still on his shoulder and he was beginning to sport major wood.
“I can spot you.”
“Excuse me?” Eric asked, very surprised and embarrassed.
“You know, during the workout,” the guy explained. “We can spot each other.”
“Oh,” Eric breathed with a sigh of relief. “Okay.”
“Great,” the guy exclaimed, extending his arm. “My name is Barry.”
“Nice to meet you. I’m Eric.”
After that evening, Barry and Eric began working out together. They even arranged their schedules so that they could meet almost everyday at the gym. After about a month or so, Barry invited Eric for dinner at his favorite diner. Eric loved the food there so much that he agreed to have dinner there again with Barry. Although Eric would gladly eat any garbage thrown his way just to spend time with Barry.
“Hey, pass me the sugar.”
Eric passed Barry the sugar in between bites of his Swiss Mushroom burger.
“Take it easy, E,” Barry cautioned. “There’s more where that came from.”
“I can’t help it,” Eric admitted. “I get so hungry after our workout. I guess that is why I haven’t been losing weight.”
“Why do you need to lose weight?”
Barry had asked a very sensitive question. Eric had never been comfortable with his huge body and had tried everything to get rid of the extra flabbiness. He explained it all to Barry, who was listening very attentively.
“Listen, are you healthy?” Barry asked, matter-of-factly.
“Yes I am.”
“Are you sure?”
“I do a medical check-up every month,” Eric answered. “I am healthy as a fat horse.”
“Then why do you need to lose weight?”
Eric hesitated. He wanted to tell Barry everything but he was not sure whether Barry would understand. He decided to give it a shot.
“Because I am a fat ugly man.”
Barry banged the table and stunned the snot out of Eric.
“Don’t you ever say that, you hear?” Eric said, barely containing his anger. “You are not fat nor ugly.”
“Then what am I?”
“You’re a very gorgeous man, who happens to be a little overweight.”
Eric melted right there and then. He wished that Barry would love him as well but he knew that it could never happen.
“Thanks, Barry. That means a lot.”
“No problem.”
He flashed his dazzling smile again and Eric’s heart melted again.

“Do you have a girlfriend?”
Barry looked surprised when Eric asked that question. They were in the locker room, getting ready to shower.
“I don’t,” Barry answered, taking off his workout clothes. “You?”
Eric had to turn away because the man of his dreams was getting naked and he was beginning to pop a woody again.
“No. Who would want me?” Eric answered, again letting his inferiority complex run rampant.
Barry moved, quick as lightning, to Eric’s side and properly shushed Eric by putting a hand over Eric’s mouth.
“I told you before not to say that,” Barry breathed in Eric’s ear before letting his hand off of Eric’s mouth.
Eric was so turned on. It barely registered that a hot man was sitting next to him naked. He tried to adjust his legs so that his stiff penis would not show through his shorts. He fidgeted a bit and then he felt it. Barry’s warmth on the side his thigh. He turned and faced Barry, whose face was only inches away from Eric’s. Barry flashed that dazzling smile of his and melted Eric’s brain. The horny meter in Eric’s mind was going off the scales. However, Eric still manages to utter, “Do you want me?”
Barry responded by kissing Eric, full on the lips. Eric was too shocked to reciprocate the kiss but as soon as Barry put his arms on the sides of his face, Eric shook out of his stupor and began kissing Barry back passionately. Barry broke off the kiss and said, “I do.”
Barry got up and grabbed his towel, motioning that he was gonna shower. Eric just nodded breathlessly. He still had trouble comprehending what had just occurred. It might just be a dream. A wonderful wet dream but a dream nonetheless. However, just before Barry left for the shower, he bent down and gave Eric another deep kiss. That was how Eric realized that it was not a dream.
“I love you, E, just the way you are. You don’t have to change anything,” Barry said.
Eric was left there, sitting alone, smiling.

Flames
The orange juice just sat there, gathering condensation. Its ice had started to melt and dilute the juice. Not that Adam realizes any of it. He was too busy staring off into space.
His mind kept flashing back to the rehearsal dinner. All kinds of kin were there, merrily doing their own thing, completely oblivious to the drama that was unfolding.
As soon as the thought of Zack crept into his mind, he was jolted back to reality. Adam quickly grabbed his glass of juice and drank from it. The bitterness made him wince. All the ice had melted and the good stuff had gone to the bottom of the glass. His hand was also wet from the condensation. He looked around for a napkin to wipe his hand. Not finding any, he dug in his pocket and took out his handkerchief and wiped his hand dry.
“Mind if I sit?”
Adam looked up. In his hazy state of mind, he did not notice Zack coming in to the restaurant.
Zack did not wait for Adam to answer. He sat down opposite of Adam and smiled. Adam avoided looking at Zack and his brilliant smile. A waitress passed by and Zack motioned to have the same thing that Adam was having.
“What are you doing here?” Adam asked, not bothering to hide his displeasure.
“Needed to get out of the room,” Zack answered nonchalantly, as though he had not heard Adam’s venomous tone. “Baby’s teething.”
Adam sighed.
Zack frowned.
“I was hoping that you’d forgiven and forgotten the thing that happened between us.”
“What would make you think that?” Adam asked.
“You came,” Zack said with a shrug.
“Yeah, I came. So?”
Zack gave him a look. It annoyed Adam to no end that he actually knew what the look meant.
“I came because Abang Man is the only one still talking to me. The rest of you shut me out.”
The waitress came back with Zack’s order. Adam closed his eyes for a moment. He opened his eyes and smiled at the waitress. She in turn, blushed and scurried away.
Zack saw that and had a twinkle in his eye. He kept smiling goofily at Adam.
“What?”
“You’re a heartbreaker,” Zack drawled out.
“What are you talking about?”
“You were flirting with the waitress, with your megawatt smile.”
Adam denied it. Vehemently.
“You’re a hot guy. I bet lots of girls follow you around.”
Adam gave Zack such an intense look that Zack felt his face was melting. Adam started to get up. Zack’s hand shot out and grabbed Adam by the hand.
“Adam, please…”
Adam ignored him, twisted his hand out of Zack’s grip and made a move towards the exit. Adam stopped at the counter and paid his bill and left. Zack rushed forward to follow but realized he hadn’t paid so he too stopped at the counter to pay. Soon as he was done, he went outside and ran to catch up to Adam.
“Hey, stop!” Zack said, panting. “Please.”
Adam stopped walking and whirled around to face Zack.
“What for?”
“Adam, please…”
Adam avoided eye contact but he did not budge. Zack took that as a good sign. He moved in closer and held on to Adam’s shoulders, trying to get Adam to look into his eyes.
“I’m so sorry for what happened.”
Adam still refused to look at Zack.
“Seriously. I acted defensively. I did not know what to do.”
Adam finally looked up.
“I get it. I really do,” Adam said. “I just don’t get how it was my fault.”
“Come on, baby…”
“Don’t you dare call me that!” Adam snapped. “You lost that right when you said I seduced you on your wedding day!”
Adam started to walk away.
“What does it take for you to forgive me?” Zack asked. “What does it take for you to take me back?”
Adam stopped walking and turned his head towards Zack.
“Go back to your wife and baby, Zack.”
Zack closed the distance between them.
“I’ve never stopped loving you,” Zack whispered into Adam’s ears.
Adam remained still. Zack took a gamble and put his hand on Adam’s waist. When Adam did not swat his hand away, he decided to be bold and hugged Adam. He felt Adam leaning into the hug slightly, which was a good sign.
“I’ve missed you…”
